From a Hobby to an Obsession

Jim Morgan is the founder, author, and primary researcher of AmRevNC.com. Jim earned his master’s degree from the oldest journalism school in the world, the University of Missouri–Columbia. He was a newspaper, university, and business writer for many years before shifting to project management and consulting. In that role, he taught team leadership or assisted teams at a wide variety of organizations, including Los Alamos National Laboratory, Microsoft, and Red Hat. For his coaching practice, he wrote and presented extensively on the science of teamwork, and he continues to write about self-managing work teams.
Raised in North Carolina, he lived all over the United States for 25 years before returning in 2008. A lifelong history buff, in 2019 Jim went looking for a guide to American Revolution sites in the state, and was disappointed to find none with the details he wanted. He started to create one for himself, using his research training and experience to ensure accuracy. Then Covid hit, and he decided to turn the project into a website supported by paid talks, tours, and product sales. He worked with three consultants to create AmRevNC.
